Data protection
To provide support effectively and safely in accordance with the terms and conditions of service, I will need to request sensitive personal information from you.
In accordance with General Data Protection Regulations 2018 (GDPR), I am required to inform you what data I will request from you, how I will process that data and what your rights are in relation to that data.
The special categories of data that I will hold about you as your Lactation Consultant will be in relation to your and your child’s health. I will be both the Data Controller and the Data Processor, solely responsible for your privacy. I will not request information from you that I do not need in order to provide services to you for legal, contractual, and legitimate reasons. I will retain your consultation data for a period of 25 years as required for insurance purposes.
The Data I will hold about you may include:
- Name
- Date of Birth
- Address
- Partner’s name
- Child/children’s name and date of birth
- Medical history (including obstetric and breastfeeding history)
- Consultation notes including plans
In addition, I retain the name, email address, phone number, postcode and age of baby of all enquirers, for approximately 6 months. After that period I retain only the postcode and age of baby of enquirers anonymously.

Fees
I do not operate a credit system and I require fees to be settled before or on the day of the appointment.
I do not accept any payments by cheque. Cash or bank transfer accepted.
Cancellation or missed appointments
I understand that in some cases being late for appointments can be unavoidable. If you are more than 15 minutes late, please be aware that you may be asked to reschedule your appointment. If your appointment is for a home visit it is possible that I might also be unavoidably late. I will contact you as soon as possible to check whether the timing of the appointment will still be convenient or whether you would prefer to reschedule.
If you wish to cancel your appointment please contact me 24hrs in advance so that your appointment can be given to another family. I reserve the right to charge the full cost of your appointment for late cancellations which will be redeemable against future appointments.
